Santa Claus Visits

Santa Visit Reminders

Volunteer for Santa. Santa should always have another adult near him to be sure Santa does not fall or get knocked down or mobbed when in crowded spaces. When Santa leaves his chair, an adult should either walk beside him or close behind him and always remain within an arm’s reach.

Food and Drinks. Because of the danger of an accidently spilled drink damaging your outfit, do not allow drinks within 10 feet of Santa. This includes drink boxes and soft drinks in cups with a plastic lid and straw.

Line Volunteer. Helpers should guide parents to be up close to their children with Santa when they are talking with Santa. It is important that the parents are involved and listening to the conversation with Santa. Don’t let them become distracted. Always be aware of who is taking photos of children, especially if they are not in the immediate area. No one may take photos of children who are not related to them without first receiving the parent’s permission. People in line enjoy their wait more if they can see Santa while they are waiting.

Santa’s Official Arrival. Be sure that when Santa walks into the room, all Elves and adults respond with great enthusiasm. Otherwise, the children wonder why they aren’t excited too and the magic starts to melt away. Santa Claus Should Always Be Center Stage. There should be no other active performers when Santa enters. All other activity should cease so that all attention is focused on Santa Claus. Any background music must be turned way down so that everyone can hear him.

Length of Performer’s Activities & Possible Fee Adjustments. The approximate length of Performer’s participation is listed in the contract order summary. Due to the personal attention Performer gives to event attendees and other factors, it is impossible to completely estimate the time required for Performer’s participation. Therefore, Sponsor’s fees will NOT increase if Performer’s activities extend up to 15 minutes past the End Time listed. If Sponsor requests additional time from Performer and if Performer’s schedule permits, Performer will extend his activities in half–hour increments at the rate of $ (75% of hourly rate) for each additional 30–minute period past the End Time listed in Section. Control of Performer’s Time and Activities Although he will be aware of how long others may be waiting to see him, Performer will have complete control of how much time he spends with each child or family. Children’s Safety. Performer will not allow any minor child to sit on his lap unless a family member, guardian or designated paid employee of Sponsor, age 18 or older, is within ten feet of the child and Performer and is paying attention to the child and Performer.

Breaks. Santa will need about 10 minutes every hour to slip away to be refreshed. The line Volunteer can communicate this to the guest.
